Majority of people don’t know what to do with their lives.  If there is no direction, there is no destination.  Many college students go to college for the sake of going to college.  I know students who got their degrees in chemistry, law and criminal studies and when they started working in the field they realize that this is not their passion and doing something they don’t like makes them feel miserable.  Then those people still stay at those jobs because they need money.

If you are not sure what is your passion it is always better to figure out what would make you happy first, and then taking action or choosing a major.

How to figure out what makes you happy?

-          Experiment with your life and try as many things as you possible can.  Try different hobbies.  Volunteer in different places; get to know life better from different angles.  Find your passion by expanding your horizon.

Important thing to do before choosing a major:

Before going into a certain major, talk to professionals in this field and get a clear idea on how it feels to do this kind of job.  Set up coffee time with a professional and ask how their work really feels to them.

Working for money?

Working for money will never make you fulfilled.  Work is for fulfilling your purpose.  When you go to work not for money but for work itself, then you are happy.  There are many ways to make money without working at all.  You can have passive income set up and coming in.  Rich people never get paid by the hour.  Find job that would make you fulfilled and happy.  Would you still stay at your present job if you were not getting paid for it?  If no, then slowly start thinking and developing a plan on how to do something more meaningful for you.

 Be courageous because this is the only way in this life.  Learn to control and conquer your fears.
